Grants

Grant awards form the foundation of a financial aid package to which other aid may be added, depending on eligibility.

All federal grants are awarded to students with financial need. For example, Pell Grant eligibility depends on your cost of attendance, expected family contribution, enrollment status (full or part-time) and whether you attend for a full academic year or less. Also, to receive a FSEOG, you must first be eligible and receive a Federal Pell Grant.

Unlike loans, grants are not repaid unless, for example, you are awarded funds incorrectly or you withdraw from school prior to the planned end of term.

There are several different types of federal grants available at CWI:

No longer funded by Congress, discontinued effective July 1, 2011.

  • Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
  • National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent
    Grant (National SMART Grant)
