Recover Access to Your Account

If you are unable to access services such as MyCWI or Blackboard, there are some steps you may follow to attempt to regain access to your domain account.

I Forgot My Password

If you have forgotten the password for your domain account, follow these steps:

  1. Using an Internet browser, go to the Logon Help system at: http://logonhelp.cwidaho.cc.
  2. The status of your enrollment in the Logon Help system and your password will determine what steps you should take next:
    1. If you have previously enrolled in the Logon Help system, and have not changed your password from the temporary password, click “Change Password”, then follow the steps.
    2. If you have previously enrolled in the Logon Help system, and have changed your password from the temporary password, click “Reset”, then follow the prompts. If you receive a message saying “This user is not enrolled”, make note of it, and attempt step 2c.
    3. If you have not previously enrolled in the Logon Help system, and have not changed your password from the temporary password, click “Change Password”, then follow the prompts. If successful, you are strongly recommended to follow the “Enroll” procedure. This will enable you to reset your password and unlock your account if you experience difficulty in the future.
    4. If you have not previously enrolled in the Logon Help system, and have changed your password from the temporary password, click “Change Password”. Follow the prompts. If successful, you are strongly recommended to follow the “Enroll” procedure. This will enable you to reset your password and unlock your account if you experience difficulty in the future.

If you are still unable to access your domain account despite having followed the relevant step above, please contact the Help Desk. Be prepared to provide a description of the steps you followed and any error messages returned to you.

My Account Is Locked Out

In an effort to protect College data, your domain account will be locked out if you make five or more failed attempts to authenticate. If you have previously enrolled in the Logon Help system, you can unlock your account by following these steps:

  1. Using an Internet browser, go to the Logon Help system at: http://logonhelp.cwidaho.cc.
  2. Click “Unlock”, and follow the prompts to unlock your account.
  3. If you are still unable to access your domain account, please [contact the Help Desk]. Be prepared to provide a description of the steps you followed and any error messages returned to you.
